Hued Indicolite Tourmaline
This
natural tourmaline piece has rich greenish-blue color of
medium to dark tone. It is exceptionally clean, with only
a faint inclusion at one end of the crystal. The crystal
is almost pre-formed for an emerald cut, which should yield
a long gemstone weighing close to three-quarters of a carat.
The clarity and brilliance are both excellent and the piece
should cut a beautiful little gem.

as "a slice of watermelon" -
hence it's name. This
natural Watermelon tourmaline crystal rough is from Nigeria,
Africa and is a quite definite mid-green 'rind' surrounding
the hot pink C axis.
It is naturally terminated
and one end is eye. It should be sawn in half and two
stones faceted which will give a good quality, clean stone
money stone and a secondary, included stone which would
still be worth the cutting.
